Technology Course- Module 1
I am most excited about learning practical techniques that I can use with my 2nd grade students. There is nothing I like more than finding a new tool or experience to take back and apply in my classroom! I feel like I am a constant learner who always looks for new ideas that will make my students excited about learning.
As far as serving as a leader or expert.... I'm not really sure about that. I have a lot of experience in using laptops with my 2nd graders. I have used a classroom set for probably 5 years or so now. I wore out one set and now have a new one. My students blog on a regular basis. I have also had my students use ePals email for about 5 years and my students have ePals each year. We do some Skyping each year in various ways. My students have done some podcasting in the past and we also make Google slide presentations. I do a lot of various things with my students so I guess I'm an expert on nothing but know a little about a lot. Ha!
I would love to learn more about project based learning. I have read about it and bought a book with ideas, but still don't feel like I completely understand what it entails. I do projects with my class but am not sure if they are considered project based learning. I can't wait to see what all I will have the chance to learn by taking this course!
